A Story We Deserve – Tony Tru: Epiphany
I was super excited to speak with this guy – I’ve known him for years but realistically we haven’t really formed a relationship until now. When you know what someone is passionate about it takes a whole different toll on your life because you see who they are.
Passion is only shown through self-expression and after listening to Epiphany that’s literally the only word I could think of. It’s 2019 and sometimes the music we listen to is completely unrelated to our 24/7 lifestyle. Listening to Epiphany has made me realize that I miss real music, you know the type of music that makes you evaluate life and truly put things into perspective.
It’s so often that our new modern day ‘social’ life has truly just consumed our thoughts about ourselves, it’s humbling to know that people still FEEL and EXPRESS themselves outside of a clout-related range. Tru has completely focused on bringing back the music in full-circle. Every snog on Epiphany has an old feel with a new age vibe that everyone can relate to. It’s a beautiful thing when you can communicate with someone and feel as though they wrote something specifically for you.
It’s definitely something that everyone should hear and get used to because he’s a hit-maker in the made, not the making. We have to truly get back to appreciating works of art like this because realistically, this type of music doesn’t exist anymore. The respect I have for this tape is immensely tied to the fact that I understand him and his emotion that bleeds through each record. Vulnerability is attractive and this man is going to the top!
